It is a Friday. The height of month close. (the busiest time of the month for us, number crunchers).
You have tons of work to finish with barely five hours to the (supposed) end of regular office hours.
Your boss sends you new files to review for the other new reports you need to work on and complete within the day.
You have severe colds. Your throat is sore. You are sleepy and exhausted.
Your friends will be waiting for you at the bus station later in the evening for a weekend trip to Baguio* that took months to plan.
You now have a slight fever.
Underneath your desk is a backpack ready for that trip.
You want so much to join your friends. But you know you’re better off resting.
Your eyes are getting heavier every minute. You just feel so weak. Too tired to give in to the frustration.
Oh, did I mention that the President declared Monday as a special non-working holiday. Read: vacation in Baguio extended!
Tomorrow, when you are feeling much better, you will try to do the reports that you can’t.. no!…you didn’t want to work on the day before.
Tomorrow, when you are feeling much better, you will try to remember which fateful day you got the darned virus.
Let me know how I should feel because I am just too tired to feel anything right now.
*I am so not in the mood to describe to you what Baguio is. Go search the web or something
